SURFATA® PL 500 reacts with the monomer through covalent chemical bonding and acts as a stabilizer in emulsion polymerization processes for various acrylic, vinyl, and styrenic systems.
It helps improve the mechanical stability of latex and increases scrub resistance, while also reducing the need for conventional emulsifiers and the tendency to form coagulum. In the film, it helps reduce foaming and water sensitivity.
